Robert Patrick Olivarez was taken from his earthly life and entered into eternal rest on November 4, 2021 at the age of 69. Robert was born on March 4, 1952 in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents Reynaldo and Elida Olivarez. He attended Ray High School and Del Mar College. He married the love of his life, Norma on May 19, 1979.

He worked with the City of Corpus Christi Utilities Department as a Meter Reader for 15 years. He then became a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Spohn Hospital and several nursing homes in Corpus Christi including San Rafael Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Robert never met a person he couldn't become friends with and always had a smile on his face. He loved taking care of his elderly patients and the families often treated him as though he was part of their family as well. Robert also served as a Correctional Officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 5 years. He continued to work as a CNA in various nursing homes in Corpus Christi, never met a stranger, and made so many friends along the way.

He loved spending time with his family, grandsons and his son's best friend while watching his favorite teams in college football, NFL teams such as the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns. He also loved watching his favorite baseball team, the Houston Astros. His friends will miss his love of hunting. Robert was a devoted brother to his sisters and a great father to his special needs son Thomas, whom he always took joy in taking out shopping to his favorite video game stores, bookstores and grocery stores. His smiles and laughter will be missed at all the birthday and holiday family gatherings. Lastly, he will be missed by his favorite cats, Leo and Coal.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo and Elida Olivarez, sister: Gracila Olivarez, brothers Reynaldo Olivarez Jr. and Ricardo R. Olivarez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Norma Alice, daughter Rita Marie Olivarez (Mark Macias), sons: Michael Joseph, Aaron Matthew and Thomas Anthony Olivarez, grandsons Joshua R. Downs and Anthony J. Macias; brother: Rolando (Yolanda) Olivarez, sisters-in-law: Maria Olivarez and Guadalupe Olivarez, two sisters: Rosemarie and Roxanne Olivarez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Corpus Christi Fire Dept. EMTs and Spohn Hospital Emergency Department.

Public visitation will begin at 5 pm, Tuesday, November 16, 2021 , with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 pm.

Funeral procession will depart from Guardian at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 for a Funeral Mass at 11:30 am at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3502 Saratoga Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78415.

Burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St., Corpus Christi, TX 78408
