Robert G. Escobar,77, returned to his heavenly home on September 1, 2022. Robert was born on September 2, 1944 to Maria Gonzalez in Bishop, Texas.

Robert was a carpenter and flooring specialist for 40 years. He also loved to go joy riding in his car while listening to his Spanish music on the way to his prayer stops. He was also an amazing cook, most known for his famous thanksgiving dressing. Robert always kept in touch with family and friends with his routine check-up calls. It is nearly impossible to capture a great life in only a few words but Robert was a caring, loving and supportive individual whose memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved him most.

He is preceded in death by mother Maria Gonzalez; brother Manuel Escobar, Sr. and his nephew Manuel Escobar, Jr.

Robert is survived by his 5 children: Robert(Yolanda) Escobar Jr., Joe Escobar, Lori (Eusebio) Wilburn, Cindy Lennox and Sandra (Tony) Gutierrez; his brother Felix (Irma) Escobar Sr.; grandchildren: JoAnn Thomas, Andrew Wilburn, Cassandra Priesing, Steven Escobar, Adrian Escobar, Valerie Escobar, Alyssa Wilburn, Aleyah Wilburn, Ryan Escobar; great grand children Lloyd Thomas, Rylee Wilburn; along with numerous nephews and nieces whom he loved.

Public Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. that evening.

Visitation will resume at 8:30 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home with the funeral procession to depart at 10:30 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church, 3513 Cimarron Blvd. with the Burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd.
