Rita Maria Vasquez, age 58, entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, June 2, 2023, with family at her side. She was born to Francisco and Carmelita Vasquez in Fowler, California on October 6, 1964.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.

She was always found in the company of her family, friends, and her beloved fur babies (Goldie and Chiquita). She leaves behind a legacy of gracious generosity and acceptance, a sense of community, and unconditional love, leaving the biggest imprint on many peoples' hearts. She was a beautiful soul with a smile that could light up any room. Rita was selfless, honest, fun, and a very loving woman, she was a woman who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Not only was she a beautiful person to others but to her family, she was their rock, she lived for her family and grandchildren, and walked so that she could watch them run. If she could split herself up to be everywhere each of her grandchildren needed her, she would do it in a heartbeat. Nothing meant more to her than being the rod that her family held on to for guidance, help, and love. No amount of words could really describe this remarkable woman and all the strength she had or the love that she gave so freely.

Rita is preceded in death by her mother Carmelita Vasquez and brother Frank Vasquez.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving children, Ruby (Markeveous) Barton, Reena (Tai) Garcia, Roxanne (Martin) Ortiz, and Richard (Jessica) Garcia, her father, Francisco Vasquez, Sister Manuela Vasquez, Brother Michael (Mae) Vasquez, Her life-long partner Alex Diggs (Pawpaw Diggs). Also, to cherish her memories are her pride and joys, her grandchildren, Rushawn, Marc (Chrissy), Karmen, Makayla, Dyemond, Kameron, Romann, Aubrey, Dylan, Remy, and Myles. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
