Richard G. Patterson, age 83, passed away November 22, 2025 after a short illness. His devoted, loving wife Jill was by his side, along with one of his favorite dogs Gordie at his feet. Richard also enjoyed final visits from his other favorite dog Rusty Marsh.

Richard was survived by his wife Jill Everly Patterson, his sister Tonya Inola Patterson Jacobs and husband Wayne, as the Everly Family, LeeAnn and Armando Martinez and Crew, Shelby and Chevy Everly, and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Weirich and Robert Ingersoll Patterson, and his sister Sonya Marybeth Herbert Meyer. A memorial service will be planned for later. Born in Toledo, Ohio, on August 31, 1942, Richard's family returned to Texas when he was six months old. Richard graduated from Victoria High School in 1960 and attended Victoria Junior College from 1960 to 1962. At age 13, Richard bought his first vehicle and was thereafter doomed
or destined to deal with cars. Richard was hired by Associates Finance Company in 1962 and moved to Corpus Christi in 1964. After Hurricane Celia in 1970, Richard began his entrepreneurial efforts by opening his first car lot, and it was a roller coaster for all those folks lucky enough to participate in or ride shotgun in his career. Along this journey, he employed hundreds of people, many of whom enjoyed later success.
