April 11, 1963 – March 18, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Richard "Richie" De La Garza announce his passing at the age of 57 on Thursday March 18, 2021. Richie was born on April 11, 1963 in Corpus Christi, Tx to Ramon & Evangelina De La Garza.
He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Richie worked at Horton Automatics for 37 years. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, good humor, love for his family and God. He enjoyed spending time with all his family and friends. He loved to barbecue and was a huge Dallas Cowboys, LA Lakers and New York Yankees fan.
Richie was preceded in death by his father, Ramon, his mother Evangelina; his son Christopher and his brothers Rene and Ray. Richie leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 25 years Martha "Marti" De La Garza & his two sons Richard " little Richie" De La Garza Jr. and Jonathan Sanchez, and his beloved pets Coco, Pito, Sweet Pea, Craigy, Baby Rocko (deceased) Also a special Thank you to his sisters Elva, Elma, Vita & Annie for always being there for him.
Pallbearers will be Robert De La Garza Jr., Jose Gonzales III, David De La Garza, Randy De La Garza, Eric De La Garza, Ernest Zamora, Jr., Ryan De La Garza & Andy Perez. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond De La Garza (deceased), Robert De La Garza Sr., Ruben De La Garza, Rene De La Garza (deceased) Ramiro De La Garza & Roel De La Garza.
Public visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel ''A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church 3502 Saratoga Blvd
Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery 8200 Old Brownsville Rd.
