Richard Alexander Galvan was called home on November 4, 2023 at the age of 60. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born December 24, 1962 to parents Nieves F. Galvan and Minnie De La Garza Galvan in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Richard worked for the Houston Independent School District as a groundskeeper for 10 years.  He continued working various jobs for many years.  Richard was a great animal lover.  He had every single pet you could think of.  He enjoyed hearing stories about everyone's pets. He & stepmom, Maria, enjoyed watching the Houston Astros, Houston Texans, Houston Rockets & Dallas Cowboys.  They were all his favorite teams.  He loved his sports and also loved to gamble.  Stepmother, Maria, raised him since he was an infant.  She was always by his side for his care, laughs, and to buy those football numbers or watch those games.  They both were always hoping to win big money.  He will be truly missed and will always be loved.

He is preceded in death by his father Nieves Galvan, his mother, Minnie De La Garza and brother, Nieves Galvan Jr.

He is survived by his stepmother, Maria, G. Galvan, brothers, Gregory Galvan, Benjamin Galvan (Laura), Julio Galvan (Marianne) sister, Annie Jean Galvan, nephews, Esteban Carlos Galvan, Gregory A. Galvan, Sean Galvan, nieces, Amber Galvan, Michelle Cordaway, Alicia Galvan, Savanna Galvan, Selina Galvan, Chelsea Montes and Emilee Montes.

Catholic graveside services will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Memory Gardens, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. Corpus Christi, Texas, 78415.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local Food Bank or church, The American Diabetes Association or the Humane Society.
