Richard "Ricky" Charles, age 65 of Alice, TX passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2024. Richard was born to Andrea Salinas Charles and Lauro Charles on April 21, 1959, in Alice, TX.

Richard grew up in Alice, TX and graduated from Alice High School and held various jobs from a mechanic to a truck driver. Richard retired with 25 years of trucking and over 1,000,000 miles in accident free log books. He enjoyed spending time in the company of his loving family and his beloved dog Chico. He valued hard work,  honesty and made sure to instill his values on his children as well as the importance of financial advisory. He will be remembered as someone who put his family 1st and never hesitated to help someone in need.

Richard is preceded in death by his daughter Lanette Ann Charles, parents, Andrea and Lauro Charles, brother Santana Charles, sisters Juanita Cantu and Carmen Vela.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Diana Yglesias Charles, daughters Yvette Marie Charles, Janette Lee Lugo-Estrada (Andrew) sons Richard Marcus Charles (Amanda) Jeremiah B Lugo (Erica) grandchildren Jeremiah B Lugo II, Jonah N Lugo, Reese G Lugo, Luke Trejo, Jillesa A L Estrada, Cole Trejo, Levi M Charles, Orion P Salinas, Emma Grace L Charles, Chloe A Charles, Logan W Charles. He is also survived by his brother Lauro (Maria) Charles, Jr., along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom loved him dearly.

Public visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m . followed by shared memories of Richard's life. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church 3502 Saratoga Blvd. All services will conclude at the church.
