Jose Ricardo Saenz, Sr. completed his earthly journey on February 23, 2023 at the age of 74.

He was born in Benavides, Texas to his parents Aurora and Presentacion Saenz, Sr. on March 28, 1948.

Ricardo, as he was commonly known, was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life. A perfect day in his eyes would be to have his family gathered around while he barbecued with a cold Miller Light in hand and some Freddie Fender playing in the background. To say he loved his family is a understatement; there wasn't a thing he wouldn't do to see his children and grandchildren smile.

His fun, and loving personality resonated with many hearts; as most would say, "He never met a stranger." Even in life's most difficult moments, he always found joy and was sure to share that joy with those around him. These memories he blessed us with will live on for generations to come. His legacy of happiness, strength, and perseverance will be remember by all those who were fortunate enough to have met him. He is merely gone from our sight, but will live always in our hearts. Until we meet again.  "Shoot-it"

He leaves behind to cherish these memories; children: Rick Saenz (Monica), Maricella Saenz (Jay Contreras), Lily Drennan (Joe); ten Grandchildren: Ashley, Kimberly, Abby, Amanda, Maddy, Bella, Ava, Andrew, Sarah, Leila; along with five great-grandchildren and a host of extended members of the family and friends whom he loved.

Public Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Guardian Funeral Home, Chapel B, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. that evening.
