August 7, 1962 – June 1, 2018
Ricardo Raul Lara, 55, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday June 1 st after a sudden illness. He was born August 7 th 1962 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father Raul Vela Lara.
He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and son. He is survived by Lydia his loving wife of 35 years, his cherished daughter Krystina Ann Lara, and his adored son Ricardo Antonio Lara. He is also survived by his mother Celia Ayala Lara, brothers Daniel, Raul, Jr. (Evangelina), Rolando Tomas and sister Lillia Maria De La Garza (Felipe) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He worked numerous years with West Oso ISD, Inspectorate America Corporation and lastly the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority where he was a dedicated employee and was both liked and respected. He was a life-long member of Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, a CCD teacher with his wife, a volunteer for the Body of Christi Ministry (The Encounter) and a member of Knights of Columbus Fraternal Organization.
Pallbearers will be Ricardo A. Lara, Raul Lara, Jr., Rolando T. Lara, Phillip M. De La Garza, Alejandro Morales, Jr., and Adam L. Gutierrez.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua T. Lara, Jason R. Martinez, Isaac R. Martinez and John R. Beardsley.
Visitation will begin at 5pm on Wednesday June 6 at Guardian Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7pm. Church services will be held Thursday June 7 at 10am at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
