Ricardo (Dique) Hinojosa, Jr. 84, of Premont, Texas, left to be with his Heavenly Father on August 31, 2015. Ricardo was born in Premont, Texas on August 18, 1931 to the late Ricardo and Maria (Ruiz) Hinojosa. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict where he was stationed in Tucson, Arizona and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He moved to Corpus Christi in 1954 to help his best friend, Clemente Garcia, open Prescott Pharmacy and remained a faithful and loyal employee until 1992 when he retired. He loved ranching, barbecuing, traveling, casino gambling and spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years. Anita Hinojosa, two children: Christina Hinojosa and Ricardo (Rick) Hinojosa (Annette) and their four grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Maddox, and Madelyn; his mother-in-law, Virginia Ojeda, two brothers, Jose Hinojosa (late Maria Hinojosa) of Premont, Texas, Raul Hinojosa of Premont, Texas; two sisters, Graciela Ramirez (late Lino Ramirez) of San Antonio, Texas, Mary Alice Flores (Ramiro) of Brownsville, Texas; three sister-in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, and many special and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ricardo & Maria (Ruiz) Hinojosa and one brother, Carlos Hinojosa (Evangelina).
Special thanks and appreciation to his sister-in-law Evangelina (Gelina) Hinojosa who helped care for him, encouraged him and shared lots of pan dulce and chismes for the past year. Thanks also to 300 wing staff at Wooldridge Place.
Pallbearers: David Flores, Chuck Hinojosa, Bobby Hinojosa, Tony Elizondo, Ryan Elizondo, and Jason Chapa. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi, Texas 78417. A Catholic service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Premont, Texas. Burial will follow in the Premont Cemetery. Guardian Funeral Home of Corpus Christi is entrusted with arrangements.
