Obituary

Ricardo Gonzalez, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 3, 2022.  In June 1966 he graduated  from Roy Miller High School. Shortly after graduation in September he voluntarily and proudly enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War Era.  He was honorably discharged in November 10, 1970. He served proudly as an aircraft firefighter/Rescue man, In 1968 he was transferred to a different infantry/artillery unit at Camp Pendleton, also with Recon forces units. Ricardo experienced on the job injuries accidents four different times.  He was sideline on light duty status, endured and recovered.  He re-aggrevated injuries while on a helicopter training maneuvers one week prior to deployment orders to Vietnam. He served a  Military/Police, brig guard and Recruit troop leader at Camp Pendleton.  In 1986 he went to Houston, Texas.  Ricardo had attended Del Mar College and then Houston Community College.  He became employed with Law firm attorneys practicing Civil and Criminal case law. He received a certificate from the University of Houston Criminal Justice Training Center as a Civil Process Server.  He received counseling training classes with other professionals under the Dispute Resolution Services at South Texas College of Law.  Ricardo had his solo business R.G. Court Services, serving subpoenas, citations and researching public records.  His goal was to continue pursuing law studies in Houston.  Ricard's hobbies was leather-craft work and woodwork projects, also rescuing and caring for stray dogs.

He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel Ortiz Gonzalez and Maria Escamilla Gonzalez.
Ricardo was the biological father of Chriselda Michelle Vargas, Richard Lerma, and Yvette Marie Gonzalez, and numerous grandchildren.
Ricardo is survived by his brothers and sisters are Manuel, Rosie(Alfredo), Rosalinda, Rachel, Alice, and Robert, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved Bertha G. Sanchez of 14 years.
Ricardo enjoyed recuing dogs and cats, and feeding birds. He loved his past time activity in working with hand crafted leather projects and helping the homeless.

A visitation will be held on Thursday June 9th at 9am-12pm with a chapel service to be held at 11am. Burial will follow at 1pm at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
