Rene James Govea Sr. age 46 passed away September 14, 2025. He was born on December 21, 1979, to the late Luis S. Govea Jr. and Patricia Ann Govea. He was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from Richard King High School in 1998. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew. He was an awesome friend to many people.
Rene James Govea Sr. enjoyed watching football his favorite team was the Philadelphia Eagles. He loved gaming, watching movies and just being with his children. He will always be remembered for his love and laughter. Rene enjoyed his time with his children. He loved to travel; he loved being around family, he was a great mechanic, loved his construction projects and he would build anything.
Rene James Govea Sr. is preceded in death by his parents Luis S. Govea Jr. and Patricia Ann Govea, his maternal grandparentsHoracio and Bertha Nava, his paternal grandparents Luis S. and Alicia Govea, his daughter Patsyann Govea, his daughter Delilah Rayne Govea, his son Gabriel Noel-James Govea, his uncle Richard James Govea, his cousin Manuel Anthony Govea, his cousin Debra Ann Garcia and his brother-in-law Vincent Escarzaga.
He is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Cristal) Govea – Mitchell, his brother Luis S. Govea III, his sister Laura (Alex) Govea Borrego. Left to cherish his memories are his children his sons Xzavier Rene Govea, Iszick Isaiah Govea with Valerie Perez, his sons and daughters Rene James (Hailie) Govea Jr, Izabel Larisa (John) Govea, Jazlin Joleen Govea, Deanndra Renae Govea, Angel Rene (Arza) Ramos, Javonnie Anthony (Annabelle) Ramos with their mother Sandra Lozano. His daughters Lexiah Larae Govea and Divinity Fabiana Govea, his grandchildren Joselyn, Je'lyous, Mikaela, Rene III, Saint, Anastasia, Marshal, Everly and Adonis as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rene had many friends that were like family that looked up to him and cherished him like a brother, father or a son. He was loved by everyone he knew, he was a jokester, the life of the party. He had a heart of gold who would help anyone who needed help. He will forever be cherished by his family and friends. He made a huge impact in this world from sunrise to sunset his memories will forever be in our hearts.
Public Visitation will be held at Guardian Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 4-8pm.
