Obituary
On Monday, February 13, 2023 at the age of 63, Rene Robert Gutierrez, a proud former marine, father, and husband, entered the gates of heaven peacefully with his loving daughter and wife by his side.
Rene Robert Gutierrez was born to Rita Garcia and Joe Gutierrez on the 15th day of August in 1959 in Sinton, Texas. A loving brother, Rene enjoyed the company of his three siblings, Oscar, Pete, and Hilda. He was an outgoing and loyal friend to his classmates and enjoyed socializing and living life to the absolute fullest. After high school, Rene pursed his dreams of becoming a United States Marine and enlisted in the military where he traveled the country and endured fond experiences he held close in his heart throughout his life, most specifically enjoying the sunsets and waves crashing to the shore in San Diego, California.
After his mission as a marine, Rene returned to Texas where he rekindled his romance with a beautiful woman named Celia, a nurse and close family friend. In 1980, their first child was born , Evangelina. Shortly after Katherine was conceived with Nikole arriving two years later in Corpus Christi, Texas. The family eventually made their way back to California where Melanie and Robert were added to the family and soon decided to move back to their native town of Sinton, Texas, where they would settle and raise their family. Rene took pride in raising his children and while he lived an eventful life his major accomplishment was raising responsible and loving adults.
A proud veteran and member of the Mormon church, Rene enjoyed the company of his
fellow church members and marine brothers. Music and dancing were the way to his heart, he was happiest in these moments. Like a child, sugary snacks were his weakness and he loved them of all sorts. Charismatic and lively, he had the youthfulness that could last a lifetime with a humorous comment at the tip of his tongue ready to deliver at any given moment. A beach workout and relaxing bike ride on a sunny day was heaven on earth for him. He enjoyed the simple things in life and will be remembered by his family and friends this way.
While we mourn the loss of Rene physically with us on this earth, may our hearts be warmed knowing we will see him again one day. He would want friends and family to keep his memory alive and dance in his honor, but most of all, he would want to remain
close to those who loved him the most. Where you go, he will go.
He is survived by his children, Evangelina, Katherine, Nikole, Melanie, Robert, and Scottie and wife Celia Gutierrez.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
