Rene G. Garcia, 65, passed away peacefully, at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, after a short illness. He was born March 6, 1952 to Roque and Elva Garcia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Sanchez Garcia, and daughter Dolores Sanchez Garcia. He retired from Sherwin Alumina on March 12, 2007. Survivors include four children and six grandchildren: Valerie (John) Cortez, granddaughter Emma Marie; Rene (Claudia) Garcia Jr., granddaughters Rebecca and Isabella; Roger (Idalia) Garcia, grandson Roger Christian; Lee Anthony (Melissa) Garcia, granddaughters Alyssa and Ashley; and his companion and friend, Tina Canales.  He is also survived by two brothers, Raul Garcia and Daniel (Dora) Garcia; and two sisters Diana (Luis) Rojas and Rosa McDonough. Rene was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
Visitation will begin Friday, October 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 7, at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with the burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
