Refugia "Cuca" R. Cruz, Our beloved mother earned her wings on March 3, 2021. She is now reunited with our father Porfio S. Cruz. Refugia S. Cruz was born in Runge, Texas to Rosendo Sr. and Anita E. Ramirez.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many. Refugia enjoyed spending time with her family and was very devoted to her church. She loved attending to her grandchildren and being involved in family gatherings.

She is survived by her children Raymond (Martha) R. Cruz, Janie (Luis) Amador, Norma (Fernando) Garcia, Patsy (Ruben) Limon, Ricky (Diana) R. Cruz; four grandchildren that she raised as her own: Timmy, Christie, Victoria and Valerie; brothers: Jesus (Manuela) Ramirez, Rosendo (Gloria) Ramirez, Eliberto Ramirez (deceased); sisters: Carolina Ramirez, Lydia (Lucio) Rosales, Maria Saenz and Eulalia Alvarez (deceased). She served as a Guadalupana at Nuestra Senora de San Juan de Los Lagos, Madre de la Iglesia Parish. She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughters Anita Cruz, Blanca Estella Perez and grandchildren Gloria Jean and Ricky Cruz.

Public visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Guardian funeral home chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 12:00 noon followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. at Nuestra Senora de San Juan de Los Lagos, Madre de la Iglesia Parish 1733 Frio St. Burial will follow in Rose Hill cemetery.
