Obituary

Raul Trevino Sr. was called to the Lord on June 4, 2018. He was born on August 25, 1933 in Brownsville, Texas to Clotilde Bustamante Trevino and Alberto Trevino, Sr.
He graduated from Holding Institute High School in Laredo, Texas in 1952, and then attended Laredo Junior College for two years. In the summer of 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He married in November 1954, and had three children. After a tour of duty in Germany, he was honorably discharged, having served as an Ammunition Supply Specialist. He attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas, where he graduated in 1958. He was a teacher in Raymondville, Texas, and later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where he continued teaching. He earned his MBA from Texas A&I University in 1966. In time he became an assistant principal and then a principal in the Corpus Christi Independent School District. In 1979 he married Martha Ann Garza. He eventually retired in 1985, as principal of Travis Elementary. He loved hunting, fishing, softball, and basketball.
Raul was preceded in death by his parents, Clotilde Bustamante Trevino and Alberto Trevino Sr., his two brothers, Rafael Trevino and Alberto Trevino Jr., and his sister, Eva Trevino Garcia.
Raul is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Garza Trevino, and five children, Rosalinda Trevino Barrera (Casimiro) of Corpus Christi, Raul Trevino Jr. of Austin, Texas, Laura Trevino of Corpus Christi, Leonardo Trevino of Corpus Christi, and Marisa Trevino Thomason (Frank) of Fort Worth, Texas, as well as nine grandchildren, Casey, Adrian, Sean, Chris, Chelsea, Will, Aviah, Lydia, and Adaline, five greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Raul Trevino Sr. will be on Thursday, June 7, at 9:30 a.m., at the Corpus Christi Cathedral, 505 N. Upper Broadway, followed by a rosary at 10:30, and a Mass at 11:00. Burial will be Friday, June 8, in Escobas, Texas (at the family plot) at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers donations, can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.  Pallbearers will be Adrian Barrera, Casimiro Barrera, Casimiro (Casey) Barrera, Jr., Chris Flores, Sean Flores and Benjamin  Pena.
