Raul C. Garcia, 76 years of age, went to be with our Lord on Friday, December 11, 2015, after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 8, 1939, and resided in Agua Dulce, Texas (fighting Longhorns), until he relocated to Corpus Christi, and met the love of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilberto and Juanita Garcia, and he leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved wife, Lucy Garcia; children, Roland, Roel, Rene, and Raquel (Andy Vasquez); grandchildren, Aimee, Cayman, Holden, Alec, Diego, Kammie, Roman, and Baby Taylor; and siblings, Omedi, Hortencia, Ramiro, Freddie (Rosa), Gloria (Lane Miller), and Johnny.
Raul served his country with six years in the U.S. Army Reserves, with honors, and worked faithfully as an iron worker for Reynolds Metals Aluminum Co. for 33 years. He coached almost every sports team for each of his children, and served as a lector at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, where he was a parishioner for over 50 years. Most importantly, he was a man of God, a great friend, and a wise man... always doing for his family. Raul will be greatly missed and forever remembered. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic church. SPID/KOSTORYZ.
