IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raul "Ray"
F. Gonzalez
July 31, 1946 – May 6, 2020
Raul "Ray" F. Gonzalez passed away peacefully at his home in Carrollton, Texas on May 6, 2020 at the age of 73.
He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 31, 1946 to his parents Juanita and Manuel Gonzalez.
Ray was a proud graduate of Roy Miller High School, Class of 1965, once a Buc, always a Buc!
He was always ready and willing to provide for his family. He dedicated over 37 years of service to Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Being the hard working man that he was, after retirement he rested for six months and then decided to join the Enterprise Car Rental team, where he served for 14 years.
On April 24, 1976, Ray married the love of his life Alicia Duque and on that day two hearts were joined as one. They took on their vows in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Corpus Christi. Through this blessed union they would bring to life 3 beautiful children and a lifetime of sweet memories.
It is impossible to fully capture the love and support which Ray provided to those he loved, in only a few words. Ray was devoted to his Catholic faith, always attending morning Mass; in return he taught his children to also be strong in their faith, to be loyal, independent and caring.
Always with a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. There were not many things that could bring his spirits down, except when his beloved team was not doing well or when his loteria ticket was not a winner. To say he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan is an understatement! A Sunday night was not complete without the Cowboys on the television and lots of die hard shouting.
He will be remembered as an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to so many. This man has left a legacy that is unforgettable; he will live on, in many hearts, for generations to come.
Ray joins now in heaven his sisters: Lydia Peninger, Frances Cantu; two premature twin baby girls; along with both of his parents.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, devoted wife of 44 years Alicia Gonzalez; children: Ray (Bryn) Gonzalez, Michelle (Jody) Linville, Christopher (Alexis) Gonzalez; grandchildren: Angel Ray, Juliana Marie, James Henry, Grayson Adam; siblings: Robert (Elda) Gonzalez, Oralia (Milton) McGee, Manuel (Lucy) Gonzalez, Theodora (Ramon) Reyes; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved.
