IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ramon A.
Ramos
March 27, 1951 – August 12, 2021
It is with great sadness the family of Ramon Arredondo Ramos announce his passing on August 12, 2021, at the age of 70. Ray, as he was known by his friends, was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 27, 1951 to parents Jose and Victoria Ramos.
As a young man, Ray embarked upon an interest in the petroleum industry while starting a family in Corpus Christi. Over the next 44 years, Ray mastered his craft by working in various capacities at Citgo refinery. Ultimately, Ray discovered a passion for serving his team and company through leadership. As he neared retirement, a debilitating health condition resulted in the loss of his lower extremities. Despite the life changing event, Ray with the tremendous support of his beloved wife of 36 years, Guadalupe Ramos, overcame this new challenge demonstrating his incredible grit and inspiring those around him. After retirement, Ray devoted his time to family and friends, the Catholic church, philanthropy, and various hobbies including exercise and gambling. Although he was no longer able to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his best friends, Ray's enthusiasm for the brand and the spirit of riding never weaned.
Ray was a strong willed and outspoken person but also naturally gregarious. He loved meeting new people and had an innate ability to quickly build genuine rapport with everyone he met. The incredible outpouring of prayers, condolences and support from friends, family and acquaintances is an amazing reflection of the many lives Ray touched.
The memories and lessons Ray shared will be cherished, passed on to future generations and never be forgotten. Ray's legacy lives on through his mother (Victoria Ramos), brother (Jesse Ramos and wife Elena Ramos), wife (Guadalupe Ramos), five children (Linda Rodriguez and husband Pete Rodriguez, Vicky Richards and husband Jeff Richards, Richard Ramos and wife Mona Ramos, Araceli Montoya and husband Jose Montoya, Raymond Ramos and wife Christy Ramos), and fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren whom he loved. Ray now joins his father, Jose Ramos, oldest brother ,Guadalupe A. Ramos, and two sons, Alfredo Ruiz Jr. and Martin Ruiz, in the kingdom of God.
Public visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at Guardian funeral home chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
