Ramiro Garza Lopez

Ramiro (Red) Garza Lopez Sr. went to be with our Lord and Savior February 5, 2014, and was surrounded by his daughter Maria T. Lopez and family members. He was 77 years old and a resident of Corpus Christi. He was born in Gonzales, Texas to Domingo and Consuelo Lopez.
Red as he was known to his family and friends had some favorite past times such as watching football, playing the lottery and bingo. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his grandson Juanito.
Red labored for many years as a cotton picker; He also worked with Avery Bell Construction; M&M products as a maintenance worker and Roy Duger as a truck driver to name a few. Ramiro was a devoted husband to Aurora T. Lopez for 21 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Consuelo, his wife Aurora, sons, Ramiro David Jr. and Bobby Moreno, and numerous brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children, Maria T. (Juan), Eddie, Enrique, Eric (Crystal) Moreno, Jeremiah Moreno, Gracie Sanchez, Cynthia (Ernest) Trevino, Veronica Moreno, and Larry Moreno. One brother Sam Lopez, one sister Irma Deleon. Numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews and cousins. And a very close family friend Cecilia Moreno.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Guardian funeral home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home on Monday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church. 2509 Nogales/MacArthur. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery
