Pete Lopez, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2022 at the age of 66. Pete was born in Falfurrias, Texas to Adelfa and Pedro Lopez, Sr. on November 1, 1956. A longtime resident of the Corpus Christi, Texas area, he graduated from Tuloso Midway High School and worked for the Naval Air Station-Kingsville for over 25 years, until his retirement. Formerly known as "Mr. Cool," he had a great dedication and skill for his line of work in heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics. A proud veteran, Pete devotedly served his country in both the United States Marines and Army branches.

Pete is survived by his wife, Zulema Lopez, his three daughters Erica (Terry) Shults, Kristina (Trey) Smith, and Vanessa (Michael) Murphy; his sister Patsy Lopez; and stepchildren JJ Flores, Adriana (Richard) Perez, and Emily (Michael) Rodriguez. Along with grandchildren, his pride and joy dog Dallas, and many more loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Adelfa and Pedro Lopez, Sr.

Pete was known for his fun and humorous personality. Chances are, in your first meeting with him, he had you belly laughing before you parted ways. He never shied away from an opportunity to praise and speak fondly of his three daughters to anyone who would listen, and let them know how proud they made him. He enjoyed spending time with family, taking his baby boy Dallas driving around, and visiting his routine local spots with his beloved wife. The longtime manager of Ricky Naranjo y Los Gamblers, he had a lifelong passion for management and promotion work in the Tejano music industry. >>SI SENOR<<

His early departure leaves a void in the lives of all who loved him. He will be greatly missed beyond measure by all who knew him.

Public visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A with the Chapel Sevice to begin at 6:30 p.m. that evening.

Inurnment with Full Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Rd.
