Retired Army Major Perry Sanford Marlin, 91, of McQueeney, TX passed away in Corpus Christi, TX on Jan. 26, 2016. He was born May 26, 1924 in Whitesboro, TX . He served in the Engineer Division of the Army and traveled the world during his 22 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
After retirement, he began a second career as a custom home builder in Wichita Falls, TX until he and his wife built a home in McQueeney to be closer to their children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewing Minor Marlin and Mary Henry Marlin, sisters Marie Kitson and Helen Smith, his wife of 61 years Allene Wendt Marlin, and daughter Karen Marlin Ortosky of Dripping Springs.
He is survived by his children, Ret. CSM Perry Sanford Marlin (Thasa) of Bankok, Thailand, and Mary Graf (Ray) of Corpus Christi, grandchildren Stephanie Harrison (Bryan) of Corpus Christi, Sarah Graf of Los Angeles, CA, Rebekah Graf of Los Angeles, CA, Elizabeth Kriegel (Uriah) of Paris, France, Daniel Ortosky of Austin, Michael Ortosky of Austin, and Katherine Ortosky of Denver, CO, and great grandchildren Hannah Harrison, James Harrison, Solomon Kriegel and Mark Ortosky.
Graveside services will be on Monday February 1, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi, Texas
