Division for seventeen years and worked as an independent Contractor for many years doing various jobs throughout the city and surrounding area for family, friends, and many others. He was an avid fisherman and barbeque connoisseur. He is preceded in death by his mother, Aurora M. Avila, his father Presentacion Avila, his sister Angelica Avila and his brother Rodolfo Avila and his step-mother Bertha Diaz Avila. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Avila, his daughter Crystal (Shane) Avila-Beckwith, his daughter Gabriella Elena Avila, his son Anthony David Avila, and his two grandchildren, Kaela and Mason Beckwith. He is also survived by his brother, Presentacion Avila, Jr. and his sisters, Adela (Miguel) Hernandez, Grace Garcia, Sylvia E. (Luis) Torres, Sandra Avila, Patricia (Juan) Vallejo, Rosa M. (Luis) Madrigal, Celia (Fidel) Alba, Diana (Noberto) Medina and Nora Avila. He also had numerous nieces and nephews. Public visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Service to be held at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery.
