Pedro Ramirez, Jr.; "Pete", "Papa" as he was known to his family and friends, took his last life's journey to Heaven on September 6, 2021.

He joined his daughter, Becky, his parents, Pedro and Elisa Ramirez, Sr. and two brothers, Henry and Richard Ramirez.

He is survived by two sisters, Elvia Sanchez (Roy) of Houston, Tx. and Gloria Perales (Samuel, deceased) of Corpus Christi. Born and raised in Corpus Christi. Pete was eighty years young; joined the world with a BANG on January 01, 1941. He was a New Year's Baby and he used to say the world celebrated his
birthday with him. His celebration always started on New Year's Eve and into New Year's Day.
He will be missed and forever in the hearts of many.

Pete was a master tailor all his adult life; his business was Ramirez Tailor Shop at various locations in Corpus Christi. Texas. He was very proud to have been taught the trade by his father. He attended CCISD schools and graduated from Miller High School; proud to be a "Buc"..once a Buc always a Buc! He enjoyed playing the alto saxophone in the bands in junior and high school. He was a member of the De Novos Boys Club, He enjoyed all kinds of music, especially country and mariachi.

He married his high school sweetheart, Susana Martinez Ramirez, and remained devoted for 59 years. They had two children, Rebecca R. Tankersley (James "Tank")...Becky went to Heaven in 2010, and Edward Ramirez of Corpus Christi, Texas.

In 1963 he joined the United States Army and served the country he loved.

Pete was an urban cowboy through and through. Although he never lived on a ranch or farm his passion for horses involved him with the South Texas Trail Riders for many years. He served the community by being a member of the Nueces County Sheriff's Posse for several years. He did not enjoy dirty jobs at home but he worked and played with the horses in all kinds of weather. He also devoted a lot of time to coaching, supporting and sponsoring sport teams for his son and grandsons.

A man with a giving heart always ready to help family or friends. He will be remembered and loved by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. "Papa" as he was called by his nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great, great grandson loved it when they visited. Family was very important to him whether it was Ramirez or Martinez. Pete and Susana started their marriage by raising two girls and one boy from the Martinez side.

In their retirement they have raised four grandchildren Alexandria, Oscar, Jaqueline and Jacob Ramirez, (now ages 20 to 16). Anthony Ramirez, eldest grandson, started calling his grandparents Mimi and Papa and those names remain.
