Pedro "Petey" Garza Jr. was called to heaven suddenly at the age of 19 on April 27, 2018. He was born in Corpus Christi, TX on September 25, 1998. Pedro attended Mary Carroll High School his freshman and sophomore year, where he was in the NJROTC Program and received several awards. Pedro also volunteered his time at the Texas State Aquarium in 2015 earning a certificate of appreciation. He then transferred to Veterans Memorial High School, where he was on the debate team and was an active member of the technology help desk. Pedro was described by his teachers and fellow classmates as calm, collected, confident, intelligent, and a sweet soul who was a friend to all. He graduated from Veterans Memorial High School in June of 2017 with permanent honor roll. Pedro had previously worked at Hurricane Alley and was currently employed at Chuy's. He was currently attending Texas A&M Corpus Christi holding a 3.4 GPA, and he was very excited that he had just received a scholarship for his summer classes. Pedro was majoring in Marketing and had big plans for his future. He enjoyed playing video games, going to the movies, collecting coins, and he enjoyed attending Comic Con Conventions. He is preceded in death by is Grandmother Lydia Irene Jasso Pena, Great-Grandmother Delfina Jasso and his two Uncles; Roland Pena, and Juan Garza. Pedro is dearly loved by his family and will be missed by his Father Pedro Garza, his Mother Deborah Pena, three Sisters, Emery Garza, Justyne Garza, and Amirah Garza. His Grandfather's Juan Garza and Jose L. Pena, Grandmother Blanca Garza, Aunt Jennifer Pena, Uncle Ricardo (Marita) Garza , numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Guardian Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
Monday, May 7, Guardian Funeral Home will open at 9 a.m., Funeral Procession will depart at 11 a.m. for the Funeral Mass scheduled at 11:30 a.m. , at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
