Corpus Christi, TX – It is great sadness that the family of Pauline Cavazos Durón announce her peaceful passing of natural causes at the age of 83 on Wednesday evening, May 11, 2022.

Pauline was born in what is known as Tienditas, Texas, located between Realitos and Concepcion to José C. Cavazos, Sr., and Maria Antonia Palacios Cavazos. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, José and Maria Antonia.

Predeceased by her husband, Manuel Aldape Durón in 2006; Pauline is survived by her children, Luis Manuel (Elizabeth) Durón of Austin, Roel (Sandra) Durón of Corpus Christi and Sandra Duron (Edward) Soto of Corpus Christi. Surviving grandchildren include Miguel Luis Durón of Austin, Daniel Diego Durón of Austin, Elyse Angeline Durón of Massapequa, New York, Roy Duron of Corpus Christi, Damian (Marissa) Durón of Corpus Christi, and Georgia Gonzalez of Corpus Christi. Great-grandchildren include Brendan Durón, Marcelina Durón, Olivia Durón, Emily Durón, Amiree and Aiden Durón.

Following her youth in Benavides, Texas, Pauline found a home with Manuel in Corpus Christi. Pauline was regularly active in her children's activities and enjoyed traveling with Manuel and friends throughout Texas and various parts of the United States. Time spent with her family and especially her siblings was an especially important aspect of her life. An avid reader of local news and follower of music, these were activities that helped her get through the day. In her later years, she thoroughly enjoyed her visits by her grandchildren and those virtual by her great-grandchildren, plus the many nieces and nephews.

Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her brother Dr. José (Maria Elena) Cavazos, Jr., sisters Cidalia Cavazos (Corando) Guajardo, Marie Cavazos (Raymond-deceased) Ramirez, Janie (Usbaldo-deceased) Guerra, Idalia Cavazos Jaime, and half-sister Ofelia Cavazos (Abel) Canales, both deceased.

The Durón family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Corpus Christi Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their service and care of their mother.

The family will start to receive friends and family at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel ''A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. that evening in Corpus Christi.

Mrs. Duron will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Benavides Cemetery on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 12:00 noon.
