IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paula C.
Garza
September 5, 1930 – March 5, 2025
Paula C. Garza, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at the age of 94 in her hometown of Corpus Christi. Born on September 5, 1930, to Hipolito Clark and Sara Abrigo, Paula's life was a testament to her passionate spirit and enduring kindness.
Paula's early years were spent in the warm embrace of her family, and her nurturing nature was evident from a young age. In the fullness of time, she met and married the love of her life, Marcos Garza Sr., and together they raised a family founded on the principles of love and generosity. Though she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her son Alexander C. Garza, her son Marcos Garza Jr, and her daughter Maria Cristina, Paula's legacy of love continues through her surviving family members.
She leaves behind a sister, Rosie Reyes, Santa Loera, Yolanda (Juan) Garza, Lydia (Angel Manuel) Vargas, and Maria Cynthia Trevino. Her joyous spirit will forever resonate in the lives of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye.
Paula's professional journey was marked by dedication and hard work. For many years, she was a valued employee at Eureka Cleaners, where her meticulous attention to detail and warm customer interactions were appreciated by all who knew her. Alongside her husband, she was also the proud co-owner of Garza's Cafe, formerly known as Hi-Ho Restaurant. The cafe was more than a business; it was a gathering place for the community and a symbol of Paula's commitment to serving others.
As we bid farewell to Paula C. Garza, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a legacy that will endure for generations. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her extraordinary presence. Paula's story does not end here; it lives on in the countless lives she influenced and the unwavering love she shared with the world.
Public visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Guardian funeral home chapel with a Catholic Service to begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
