Paul Sears
Proctor
June 15, 1980 – April 17, 2026
Paul was born on June 15, 1980, in Galveston, Texas, to Ada Luther and Cecil Proctor Jr.. Raised with a deep sense of loyalty and a strong work ethic, Paul carried those values with him throughout his life.
He proudly served his country in the First Cavalry Division of the United States Army, with deployments to Iraq and Korea. His time in the military was a source of pride and shaped much of who he was. After his service, Paul worked as a generator service technician before finding his place with IBEW Local Union 278, where he continued to build a life defined by hard work and dedication and following the footsteps of his father before him.
Paul was a man who left an impression wherever he went. He had a natural ability to connect with people—strangers rarely stayed strangers for long. Known for his generosity, he was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He had a larger-than-life personality, and if you knew him, you likely had a story to tell.
Above all, Paul loved his family. He is survived by his children, Maverick Proctor (and wife Autumn), Malia Proctor, Mason Proctor, and Mabry Proctor; and his siblings, Ricky Proctor (and wife Shann), Karen Bryant (and husband Mike), and Kacey McCarty (and husband Richard), as well as countless other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded by his father Cecil O'Dell Proctor Jr., brother Cecil O'Dell Proctor III, grandparents Cecil and Helen Proctor, great grandparents Jesse and Gladys Lowe, and cousin Kolton “Boo Boo” Proctor. He took pride in his children and poured his whole heart into being their father.
Paul loved the military, loved Texas, and above all his family, and approached everything he did with intensity and passion. In his later years, he developed a love for motorcycles and even joined a motorcycle club, embracing the sense of brotherhood it brought. He loved to laugh, he loved his work, and he loved the people in his life without reservation.
Paul Sears Proctor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His presence, his stories, and his unwavering spirit will not be forgotten.
