Obituary

Paul Reid Jr., 34 of Corpus Christi, Texas, was unexpectedly called home to Heaven on July 28, 2020.

He was born on October 19, 1985, in Portland, Maine. The son of Mary Jean Hathorne-Reid and the late Reverend Paul Reid Sr. Paul was the youngest of three children. Paul lived a very active and full life throughout his childhood and school years. He is remembered by many for his smile, outgoing personality, love for sports, and zest for life. His passion for sports and his cherished number "11" jersey that he possessed throughout his school days has since been passed down to his three beautiful children. Right out of high school, Paul traveled to Texas with his parents. It was there that he met the love of his life, Veronica Limon. It was not long before Paul and Veronica decided to become a family, and Corpus Christi, Texas, became his home. He continued his passion for sports and desire to leave a legacy as an energetic youth softball, baseball, basketball coach, and independent entrepreneur. Everyone that knows Paul knows that he had a strong desire to leave a legacy. He often said, "The day that I'm not here, I'm going to leave a Legacy" Indeed, he did. We have lost the most genuine, loving, outgoing, friendly, caring, supportive, and fantastic person that one could meet. Paul had a heart of gold and loved everyone without judgment. In return, he was loved by so many, near and far. He was selfless and very giving. Anything anyone ever needed; he was there to provide a helping hand. Paul was a loving and dedicated father and enjoyed showering Veronica and their children with love. He loved calling his mother every day, and as soon as she answered, he would say, "good morning, Beautiful." He loved to love and appreciated being loved. He loved coaching his children for the last eight years. He was a coach on the Texas-South Dynasty 10u (softball), CEO of IHOOP (basketball), and Eagles (baseball). Coach Paul exuded energy and positive vibes with his coaching abilities to each team. He was very well known and will be truly missed in the youth sports community. Paul spent time enjoying fishing, as he found it to be peaceful. He will forever have peace in heaven. Paul leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory deeply, His wife Veronica Limon Reid, a son: his pride and joy Paul Reid III, two daughters Eliana LeeAnn Reid and Jilliana LeeAnn Reid of Corpus Christi, Texas. His beloved mother Mary Jean Reid-Grant, and her husband Larry Grant of Portsmouth, Virginia; sisters, Amena Parker and her husband Tarane Parker of Suffolk, Virginia; Adina Whittaker of Norfolk, Virginia, His Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law, Ruben and Patsy Limon of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sister-in-Law Amanda Elizondo, and her husband Jason Elizondo of Corpus Christi, Texas, Brother-in-Law Ruben Limon II and Lori Reyes of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones. As he would say, "it's never goodbye; it's I will see you later."  Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Guardian funeral home chapel with an Evening service and Celebration of Paul's life to be held at 7:00 p.m.  Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2020 at Guardian funeral home.  Interment will follow in Seaside Memorial Park cemetery.
