Patria E. Vargas Silva, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on July 9, 2025. Patria was born on April 27, 1939, in Lajas, Puerto Rico to her parents, Guillermo Vargas and Ernestina Baez.

Preceded in death by her cherished husband of 51 years, Vicente Silva Rodriguez, and her dearly loved daughter Evelyn Silva, Patricia's legacy of love and strength lives on. Her daughter, Patricia Hernandez, stands as a testament to her mother's enduring love and guidance. The family circle extends to seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to Patricia's heart.

Patria found solace and delight in the simple acts of tending to her garden. Her hands, skilled and gentle, nurtured the earth and coaxed life from the soil, with hibiscuses blooming in vibrant testament to her care. These flowers, her favorite, seemed to capture the essence of her spirit with their beauty and resilience.

Patria's afternoons were often spent in the cherished company of her daughter Patricia, as they walked along the beach with Bartolo , her pug-mix dog. These moments, filled with laughter and the soft murmur of the waves, were the simple pleasures that she cherished deeply.

Those who knew Patria will forever remember her kind heart, which she opened to everyone she met. Her playful humor, a spark that could light up any room, will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to experience it. Patria lived her life as a servant to Jehovah, her faith guiding her through life's journey with unwavering conviction and grace.

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Guardian Funeral Home from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
