Marty Vera, 56, went home to be with the Lord and to his eternal home on April 4, 2023. He was the Pastor at El Mesias Baptist Church on Molina Drive in Corpus Christi, Texas. Marty grew up near Petronila, Texas and attended school at Bishop Independent School District in Bishop, Texas.

Marty worked at Corpus Christi Prosthetics for about 15 years until he became a full time Pastor. Marty loved hunting, fishing and playing golf. He also loved spending time with and shopping for his three girls and his grandson. Marty had a heart for anyone and everyone and was such a giving and loving person.

He is joined now in heaven by his father Andres Vera along with his paternal and maternal grandparents and a host of extended family and friends.

Marty is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla Vera and his two daughters: Kimberly D. Vera and Sarah E. Vera and one grandson, Easton Lane Canales. His mother Mercedes Maria Vera, 3 siblings: Joel (Belinda) Vera, Pablo (Linda) Vera, Hope (Roland) Mota; 14 nephews, 14 nieces and 11 grand nieces and nephews with one on the way. He also had numerous kids that he had informally adopted along his life; all of whom he loved and cared for as his own.

We rejoice, in the midst of our sorrow, that our beloved Marty was faithful to Christ on this Earth and with great faith we can say he is now given everlasting life in Heaven.

Public Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023 with the Evening Service to begin at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 with the funeral procession to depart at 12:30 p.m. for the Burial at 1:00 p.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd.
