Obituary

Otis Todd Sr, affectionately known as "Pops", was called home on August 4, 2025 at the age of 70 in his proud hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. He lived a life full of trials and tribulations but a life that was beautiful. Otis was born November 30, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas to loving parents, Cherlia and Othella M. Mayberry Todd.

Otis attended West Oso High School (class of 1974), where he played the bass drum for the Oso Bears Marching Band. He was a hard worker and dedicated his hard work to raising his family. Everything he did was for his family to try and give them the very best he could.

At the age of 16 Otis walked into Floyds Restaurant at autotown and asked Mrs. Floyd Green for a job washing dishes and bussing tables. He did not know at that time he would dedicate his working years to Floyds Restaurants. Although things changed over the years with them, Otis followed the name Floyds wherever it led. Finally ending after many years at the Floyds Christian Restaurant in Flour Bluff in 2020.

Otis wanted so much to buy that place and make it his own; that was his heartfelt desire. He loved cooking; even though he could make the best biscuits, his kids loved his french fries and gravy the most. Our dad was not just a cook; he was a chef who over many years perfected his skills and recipes to cook for the ones he loved.

Otis was a magnetic force; people gravitated towards him, and he accepted and loved them all. He was compassionate, loving, caring, attentive and at times very hilarious.

Otis loved fishing, and his tales of fishing stories were always "I caught the big one but he got away, he took my hook".

Otis had a love for flower beds; his favorite flowers were roses and tulips. Otis loved the oldies, the 70's music, the beat of the drum and the ping from a bass guitar was sweet music to his ears. Otis loved to dance. Having two left feet, he always moved to the beat and never quit. That was Otis, never ever quitting, no matter what.

Otis is preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosalinda Arevalo Todd (12/31/2015); loving parents, Cherlia and Othella M. Todd; brothers, Ellison Jackson, Calvin Todd; half-brother, Lee Todd, and half-sister, Clady Todd.

Otis is survived by his former wife, Rebecca Morris and their children, Renita Todd Kauffman, Loretta Todd Woodward (Jeremy) and Otis Todd Jr. (Michelle). He is survived by his children from his late beloved wife, Rosalinda: Patrick Todd and Brittany Todd. Otis is also survived by 10 cherished grandchildren, children of Loretta Todd Woodward: Michael Woodward (Vanessa), Joshua Woodward; children of Otis Todd Jr.: Otis Nathaniel Todd (Taylor), Victor Todd, David Todd; son of Renita Kauffman: Matthew Urano; children of Patrick Todd: Sahara Quiones, Anailla Tidwell; children of Brittany Todd: Nathan Adamez, Sara Stewart; 4 great grandchildren, children of Nathaniel Todd: Isaiah Todd, Jaxon Todd; children of Michael Woodward: Jameson Woodward, Adelene Lozano; his loving in-laws, Augustin and Rosa Arevalo; sister in-law Sylvia Silva; loving brothers, Ruby James (Bobby) and Charles Jackson; loving and caring sister, Linda Robinson; a ton of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many people he has met over the years.

Otis also leaves behind his fishing buddies, Stephen Morris (nephew from his first marriage) and Phillip Laduke (brother-in-law from his first marriage).

"Dad, we will miss you, immensely. You were our "go-to" when life got rough; you were our sanity in this crazy world and our comfort when we needed clarity. You always gave 110% and never stopped fighting for what's right. You and our mother's always put us first and always sacrificing to do the right thing by us kids. It was a blessing and a curse to live with four parents in the same house. We knew not to cross the line but that's why our family is so close. Thank you, dad! Because of you and our strong support from our blended family, you were always there no matter what. Because of you we have the hearts of a lion, the love of our family, and your boundless love and devotion to us. We promised you just a few days ago to keep our family unit together and we will. We will forever keep you in our hearts with God"

Otis loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a faithful servant to the end. He was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Flour Bluff.   Now he is gone home to be with the Lord who he loved dearly. While here, he always wanted to share Gods love with anyone willing to listen. He gave his all and earned his wings.

Rest in peace, dad.
