On January 23, 2023, Oscar Perez Puente Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, and brother. Oscar was born to the late Narciso Infante Puente Sr. and Celia Perez Puente, on September 1, 1938, in Santa Rosa, Texas.

He is survived by his children Irene Hinojosa, Oscar Puente Jr. (RoseAnn), Roy Puente, and Elizabeth Puente-Quintanilla (Noe), his grandchildren Narciso Jr. (Miranda), Jose Jr. (Becky), Amanda (Gabriel), Krystal (Jerry), Daniel, Justin, Isaac, and Sean. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Jorjia, Logan, Olivia Ann, Jerry Jesus, and his brother Manuel.

Oscar was a hardworking farmer in Chapman Ranch for over 60 years. He continuously strived to do his best for his family and ensure they were properly provided for. Fishing and gardening were two of his greatest passions. It was the simple things in life that brought him most joy. He is reunited in death with his wife Maria Olivia, son Narciso Sr., brother Alfredo Jr., and sister Lucia. He will be greatly missed and always remembered in our hearts.

We are sincerely grateful for the many friends who have given us support and comfort during this time of loss. The family would also like to express gratitude to his provider Leti Saldana and Tribute Hospice.

Visitation for family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown SH.286. Deacon Larry Rodriguez will preside a Rosary Prayer at 7:00 p.m. the same evening.
