Oscar Veliz Navarro, age 82, a resident of Alice, Texas passed away on Wednesday August 3, 2022.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. A life filled with great joy and love for his family. He had an artistic vision spending many moments drawing or coloring images with his children and grandchildren. Oscar was sharp and witty, his innovative mind always had a solution for life's problems. Always with a smile on his face and a joke on his lips; he never met a stranger. His love for sports and fishing was a staple throughout his life. These priceless memories will live on for generations to come.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alma Arredondo Navarro; children and their spouses: Oscar (Dodie) Navarro, Margaret Buentello, and Janie (Brian) Hutson; seven grandchildren: Jessica Calamia, Christopher Buentello, Jason Navarro, Jeremy Navarro, Kimberly Garcia, Briana Hutson, and Jordan Hutson. He was even blessed with having the possibility of enjoying his nine great grandchildren; getting to see four generations in his lifetime. He is also survived by his siblings: Guadalupe Navarro, Herlinda Garcia, Javier Navarro, and Manuela Navarro.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Herlinda Navarro and siblings Olga Rivas, Arturo Navarro, Jose "Pepe" Navarro, and Isabel Navarro.

He will be greatly missed by his family and those who loved and cared for him.

Public Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home with a Chapel Service to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m.
