Oscar Moreno, 60, passed away peacefully on the evening of February 28, 2016. He was comforted by family members at the time of his journey to the Lord's presence. He leaves his beloved wife Barbarita; 6 sons Oscar Jr., Alejandro, Frank Edward, Emanuel, Israel, and Samuel Oscar; 3 daughters Diana, Hortencia, and Deborah; and 18 grandchildren. He also leaves a brother Ramon, sisters Jesusa, Josefa, and Elena, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by father Acension, mother Hortencia, brothers Jose, Antonio, and sisters Clara, Ninfa, Maria, and Yolanda.
From a young age, Mr. Moreno was always a high energy person who loved being active and social. He found his soul mate and partner for life when he married Barbarita Cerna. At the time of his passing, Mr. Moreno was self-employed as the owner of Moreno's Trucking which he founded in 2006. Oscar was a career truck driver working for Texas Fuel & Asphalt and BOC Gases before retiring and starting his company. Oscar was a deacon and Sunday School superintendent at Temple Jerusalem. Mr. Moreno was a pillar of his community who was always willing to help his fellow neighbor in every way. A hardworking and honest man, he was esteemed by his entire family and admired by friends, peers and acquaintances. Oscar will be truly missed by all who had the privilege to have known him. Family visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until Service time at 12:00 noon at Templo Jerusalem 2515 Coleman. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
