Obituary

With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Olaya "Guita" Gonzalez Longoria, who passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on June 22, 2025, in her home in Corpus Christi, surrounded by her devoted family. Born in General Treviño, Mexico, to Bernardo Gonzalez Salinas and Eduviges Salinas de Gonzalez.

Guita lived a life full of faith, love, and quiet strength. She was the heart of her family—a devoted wife to the late Andrew V. Longoria Sr. She is survived by her sons, Andrew Jr. (Derry), Javier (Emma), Fabian (Norma), and daughter Arleen. She is also survived by her beloved brother, Edmundo Gonzalez.

Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Andrew Longoria III (Lori), Adrian Longoria, Aaron Longoria, Javier Eric Longoria, Monica Ramirez (Axel), Sara Luis (William), Fabian Longoria Jr. (Chloe), Rachel Olaya Longoria, Randy Hernandez (Leslie), Jennifer Hernandez, and Rocky Benavidez.

Guita was also blessed with many great-grandchildren who brought her joy: Andrea, Aliana, Joey, Emma, Guillermo, David, Mallory, Autumn, Derek, Marcus, Alex, and Cameron.

Guita's love was felt in every homemade tortilla, every sweet empanada, and every moment spent playing Lotería around the table. Her home was always open, filled with delicious food, laughter, and stories. She brought family together through tradition and led with quiet determination, always modeling strength and independence. She never drove, but walked for miles—gracefully charting her own path, both literally and in life.

She will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering faith, and the way she made everyone feel like family. Guita gave her love freely, and her impact will be felt for generations.

A Rosary will be held on June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2509 Nogales St, Corpus Christi, TX. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 2731 Comanche St, Corpus Christi, TX at 1:00 p.m.
