Corpus Christi- It is with great sadness that the family of Ofelia S. Escobar announces her passing of natural causes at the age of 93 on Saturday evening June 5, 2021.

Ofelia was born in Benavides, Texas in 1927 to Anselmo and Alicia Saenz, in her early years Ofelia worked for C.C.I.S.D. Where she drove school buses for children. She enjoyed the challenge of driving a big school bus. She also was a devoted Christian and enjoyed going to church in her good years that she had. She loved the word of GOD. Throughout her life, Ofelia had a strong passion for playing her guitar and singing. Ofelia had a passion for music.

Ofelia was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Ofelia was preceded in death by her father, Anselmo Saenz, her mother, Alicia Saenz (Salinas), her brothers Johnny Saenz and Anselmo Saenz Jr. and her grandson Adam Lee Garcia.

Ofelia will lovingly be remembered by her sons Carlos S. Garcia of Corpus Christi TX, Joe (Melba) Garcia of Alice TX, David Garcia of Corpus Christi TX, Edwardo Garcia of Alice TX, and Raul Escobar of Austin TX and her daughter Mary Alice Nutt of Kingsville TX. She will be fondly missed by her 11 grandchildren, 17 great great-grandchildren and her 7 great-great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Guardian Funeral Home at 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi, TX. 78417 on Saturday, June 19th from 11am-2pm. Following a Celebration Life at Ethel Eyerly Community Center on 654 Graham Rd., Flour Bluff TX. at 3pm-5pm.
