Noe R. Cavazos, age 71, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia M. Cavazos and their children: Sylvia Ann Cavazos (San Antonio, TX) and Noe Isaac (Natalya) Cavazos (Seattle, WA); Victor M. (Merida) Cavazos (Corpus Christi, TX) and Melinda (Eladio) Cavazos (Houston, TX); his brother, Perfecto Cavazos (Corpus Christi, TX) and (6) grandchildren.
Noe R. Cavazos was born on August 1, 1945 in Matamoros, Mexico to Jorge G. Cavazos and Dolores R. Cavazos. The family settled in Corpus Christi, Texas where he became naturalized as a U.S. Citizen on Nov. 21, 1968. He attended West Oso High School and Corpus Christi State University (now Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (BBA). Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era and worked as a Jet Aircraft Technician. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force reserves and remained in Corpus Christi, Texas. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force, he worked for the U.S. Federal government for approximately 15 years (TDHS), retired, and began his career as an insurance agent with Farmer's Insurance. He later became an independent agent and became the owner of Noe R. Cavazos Insurance Agency.
He attended SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will be held at Guardian Funeral Home in Chapel A, Corpus Christi, Texas on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the South Texas Coastal Bend State Veteran's Cemetary at 9974 IH 37, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410.
