Obituary

Nick M. Gamez, 62, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on March 16, 2024 while he was surrounded by his family. Nick was born on January 14, 1962 to Raul and Francisca Gamez in Corpus Christi, Texas. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 7 years and 11 months. He was a Fuels Specialist and was Honorably Discharged as an E-4.

Nick Gamez was many things in his life: a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Nick loved to spend time with his fiancé Elizabeth traveling and enjoying life. In his free time, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid handy man. He was always called by friends and family to fix and repair things. His co-workers from CBRE depended on him to always find a creative way to fix the old hospital. He loved spending time with his family fishing and camping. Nick's world revolved around his family. His greatest pride was being a grandpa. He loved to be at every softball, volleyball, and basketball game, as well as the horse shows, and ballet recitals. He was always his grandkids biggest fan and supporter. For his family he was our rock, the core of our happiness.

Nick is remembered for his compassion for people, and his sense of humor. When his laughter filled the room with joy, as it always did, you couldn't help but to join. His contagious smile would light up any room.  He will always be remembered for his kind, generous, and loving heart. Nick embodied the definition of a hardworking and loving man.

Nick joins in heaven his parents Raul and Francisca Gamez; brothers Jesse and Jose Gamez; sister Sarah Perez. He leaves behind to cherish these memories his fiancé Elizabeth Mendoza; children: Katrina Gamez, Gabrielle Gonzales, Nicholas Gamez; Grandchildren: Audrina Garcia, Victoria Garcia, Zeena Gamez; siblings: Raul Gamez, Esther Sada, Paul Gamez; numerous nieces and nephews.

"Until we meet again."

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for the love and support that each of you have poured out over these past few weeks. We would also like to acknowledge the dedicated staff at Spohn Shoreline, and the hospice staff at New Century; for the compassion and diligent care they provided to Nick, we are forever grateful. Thank you all.
