Obituary

Neil Howard Poulson passed away on October 14, 2026 in Corpus Christi, Texas, surrounded by his family. He was taken too soon by a cruel disease, but he fought until the very end and never complained.

Neil was born in Bakersfield, California, on June 23, 1964, to the late Parley Grant Poulson and Mae Frances Poulson. At a young age, he moved to Malta, where he spent 18 years of his life. During his time there, he attended Stella Maris College and briefly played for the Msida St. Joseph football team, beginning a lifelong love of soccer.

Neil had a gift for making friends wherever he went. Kindhearted and generous, he was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone who needed it. If something was broken, Neil would find a way to fix it. He could turn his hand to almost anything, and his willingness to help others was simply part of who he was.

Neil had a witty sense of humor and a way of making people laugh. He loved cooking, making jokes, watching soccer and Formula One, fishing, good food, watching chick-flick movies, and a “few “Coors Lights. He appreciated life's simple pleasures and the happiness that came from sharing them with others. Wherever Neil went, he left people with memories to smile about.

Above all else, Neil loved his family. His daughter, Nicole, held a particularly special place in his heart, and the two shared a close and deeply cherished bond. One of the greatest joys of his life was becoming a grandfather to Nicholas, his pride and joy. Nicholas brought him happiness that words can hardly express, and the love Neil had for his grandson was special. He treasured him more than anything.

Neil leaves behind his beloved daughter, Nicole, and her husband, Lawrence; his adored grandson, Nicholas; his son, Patrick; his sister, Mitzi; and his brothers, Steve and Kenneth, along with extended family and the many friends whose lives he touched.

Though his life was cut far too short, Neil leaves behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, laughter, and love. He will be remembered as a man who could fix almost anything, who could make people laugh with his wit, and who loved his family with all his heart.

The pain of losing him is immeasurable, but so is the love he leaves behind. His memory will live on in the stories told, the laughter shared, the friendships he built, and the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Neil will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Further details will be shared once arrangements have been made.
