Nazario's family would like to send out thanks to the ICU, Hospice, and Palliative care teams working at St. David's NAMC, specifically the nursing staff, Emma, Lauren, Megan, and Jonathan and all those who cared for him in the last weeks as well as to the family and friends who came to visit with him in those last moments and offered your prayer and support. Your service and help will not be forgotten.
He was known as " DJ Natural" to his friends, family, and coworkers and "Nacho" to his closest and oldest friends. He worked as a DJ at clubs, radio, and special events or parties, but identified himself as a "turntablist." He traveled and lived in many cities such as Houston, McAllen, and Miami, but was born and raised in Corpus Christi. He played little league baseball and soccer from age 5, attended Baker Middle School where he played drums in the band and graduated from WB Ray High school in 1997. He was voted Senior homecoming king. He played Varsity football as a running back and ran track. He participated in Corpus Christi Cathedral Youth Chorale during Middle school and as an alter server at Corpus Christi Cathedral.
He worked at various radio stations such as 102.9 The Bomb, Hot Z95, and 102.3 The Beat as a DJ Mixer in the mid 2000's on a show called "10 o'clock Flava" then left in 2010 to launch a station in the Rio Grand Valley called "The Beat." Coworkers reported that he provided DJ services with different young artists in their early careers in music like Pitbull, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, and Bruno Mars and often supported other DJ's with their skills at open nights at various clubs in the Corpus Christi area to help them learn their craft. One of his favorite events was DJ'ing at 6th street at New Year's Eve in Austin, Tx. He was easily recognized by his severely starched jeans, bandana or hat, and sunglasses. He was known to be a very generous person, giving his food to the homeless on the street and helping friends when in need. He would often send out his music mixes that now live on in his legacy.
Memorial services are planned for Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home chapel.
