Nancy Carolyn Burger, passed away September 5, 2015. After a valiant battle against lung cancer. Nancy was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 27, 1945. The daughter of Charles and Betty Sue (Wilds) Grimes, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Ruth (Wilds) and Charlie Burger. Nancy attended W.B. Ray High School and later worked as a school crossing guard, a security guard, and a home health provider. She also helped care for her parents, the Burgers, in their old age. Nancy spent most of her life in her hometown but also lived in Lake Jackson, Texas and California. She had a soft spot for animals and enjoyed playing Farmville on Facebook, watching her big-screen TV, and making latch-hook rugs. Survivors include her son Bill (Shelley) Cumming, grandson Cody Cumming, and siblings Carl (Elena) Burger, Mary (John) Villalpando, and Aimee Bryan Dixon. Thanks to the staff of Alameda Oaks Nursing Center, her home for the last two years. No services are planned.
