She is survived by her children, David Y. Juarez Jr. (Nelda), Robert L. Juarez Sr., Daniel J. Juarez Sr. (Mellie), Les P. Juarez Sr. (Gina), Pam L. Rutherford, Pat J. Rios (Bobby), Sean Juarez, Cindy Sifuentes (Mark), 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, brother Ed Castle (Cherie), sister Joan Vance, brother Ron Castle (Robin), and numerous brother and sister in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
She met the love of her life at the age of 15 while she was working at a Root beer stand in Kingsford Heights, Indiana. After several trips back and forth, one day Dad asked Mom when she was only 16: "I'm going back to Texas. Do you want to go with me?" She told her Mom I'm going with David to Texas, and Grandma knew that Mom was determined to begin her life with Dad in Texas whether she signed for them to get married or not. That was the beginning of a 63-year marriage and 9 children later. Mom was such a devoted and selfless wife and mother. They continued to travel from Texas to Indiana together working with Dad's family. Mom was never afraid of work. Pregnant or not, she worked. She was a waitress at Price's Chef, until her cancer diagnosis. She stayed home to raise all her children, which was a huge and remarkable sacrifice. Mom and Dad made sure we had a roof over our heads, clothes to wear and food on the table. Mom was a self-taught seamstress who made a lot of our clothes growing up, and still found time taking on sewing jobs for other people. Dad was the bread winner of the family, and mom oversaw our education and nurturing us. She never complained about her life becoming a mother at such a young age. She raised her children to be respectful, loving and kind to everyone. Mom made sure that all her children were involved in school activities, and Dad made sure to work extra jobs to have the funds for all that was needed. Mom played a huge role in our schooling, from helping with homework, studying for tests, and just being present for EVERY event we were in. She was an avid volunteer and was also a certified tutor which made a difference in so many children's lives. Mom would stay up into the wee hours of the morning sewing for others to make sure we had extra money for our activities. Mom and Dad had a goal for all nine of their children to graduate from the same high school. She was honored with the Lifetime PTA Member Award; she held several PTA positions, and she never stopped giving her time to schools. She loved volunteering and decorating the bulletin boards. She not only volunteered as a parent, but also a grandparent. Everyone loved having mom on campus. However, Mom would always make sure that Dad was taken care of during the time she volunteered. She was a babysitter to so many of her grandkids and always loved to help them with their homework. She truly loved being a mom and a grandma. Mom was the one person all of us leaned on for advice, direction, and support. Mom, you will be truly missed by everyone that encountered you. If she said she loved you, she meant it. Rest in Peace Mom until we meet again in Heaven.
