It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude that we announce the passing of Rosalinda Acevedo Perez, who departed this world on June 8, 2026, at the age of 82. Rosalinda passed peacefully at home in the loving embrace of her family, concluding a courageous battle with liver cancer and complications from longstanding health conditions. Born on October 10, 1943, in Lamesa, TX, she graced the world with her presence, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and unwavering devotion.

Rosalinda was the daughter of the late Felipe and Maria Acevedo, who instilled in her the values of kindness and compassion. She was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Cody Ryan Perez, whom she cherished deeply and held close to her heart; her parents; her grandparents, Jose and Catarina Padilla and Roman and Maria Acevedo; and her favorite aunt, Evangelina Acevedo Kujawski, whose kindness and generosity left a lasting imprint on her life.

Rosalinda is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Joe M. Perez, with whom she shared an enduring love story that began on October 12, 1964. Together, they built a family filled with joy and laughter, raising four children: Joe (Suzanne) Perez, Jr., Jo Ann (Danny) Flores, Robert Perez, and Cynthia Perez. Her legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, including Klarisa Perez, Bobby Perez, Jase Flores, Joe Perez III, Antonio Perez, Adrianna Perez, Jessica Perez, Christopher Perez, Miguel Perez, Jerek Flores, Jacqueline Perez, and great-grandchildren Kaden Perez, Jasai Flores, Rocco Tomassetti, Damien Rivera, Toni Avayah Valdez, Lennox Perez, and Ilayah Perez.

Rosalinda had a remarkable gift for sewing, creating everything from simple alterations to elaborate gowns—including a wedding dress, bridesmaid and prom dresses, Hi‑Fairnessee gowns, little girl dresses, a baptismal gown, baseball jerseys and even cheerleader uniforms. She could sew beautifully without a pattern, relying on her intuition, creativity, and skill. Her hands created beauty with ease, and every piece she made reflected the care and love she poured into her craft. Whether through her sewing, her handmade crafts — dolls, bunnies, crosses, jewelry, and so much more that she enjoyed, she found joy in creating things that were both meaningful and beautiful. These interests reflected her warm personality and her appreciation for the small joys that brighten life. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel special, and her home and heart were filled with the things she loved most. Her family and friends will always remember her for her gentle nature, her creativity, and the comfort she gave so freely to others.

Her heart was as expansive as her creativity, always open to family and friends. Rosalinda's home was a sanctuary of warmth, where her hospitality knew no bounds. Always making sure her grandkids had something to eat and ready to cook for them. She was a steadfast presence, offering support and guidance to her husband and children, no matter their age or the circumstances.

Rosalinda's passions extended to the baseball diamond, where she was an avid fan, cheering for her grandsons and the Astros with equal fervor. She especially loved watching her grandson play college baseball, proudly traveling across Texas to be in the stands for his games. She was always asking when they were leaving and where they were going so she could be ready—her excitement to support him was unmistakable. Her adventurous spirit also led her to enjoy the thrill of gambling, savoring life’s unexpected turns with a smile. In her later years, she even embraced TikTok, learning to use it with enthusiasm and delight. She and her husband spent countless moments watching TikTok videos together, laughing and sharing simple joys that brightened their days.

Rosalinda cared a special love for great grandson she named “Curly,” and he quickly learned to call her “Tita.” Her playful exchanges with Jasai, marked by their endearing farewell of "See you later, alligator!" and he would respond with, "After a while, crocodile!" and her continuing with, “Okie Dokie, Pinokie.” will forever echo in the hearts of her family.

The Pallbearers will be Jase Flores, Jerek Flores, Joey Perez, Antonio Perez, Miguel Perez, Bobby Perez and Honorable Pallbearer Jasai Flores.

Visitation will be held at Guardian Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, beginning at 4:00 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Seaside Memorial Park Cemetery.
