Solis, Sr.

It is with heavy hearts, that we share the passing of our beloved father, Jose Solis, on April 6, 2026 at the age of 94. He was born on March 17, 1932 in Laredo, Texas to Feliberto and Enedina Solis. He was a devoted parent, guiding us with love, strength, and wisdom. Jose dedicated his life to family.
He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1950-1953. He was a very proud Veteran.
He worked at Red Arrow Freight Lines for 25 years. He then worked at the Trade Center where he made many friends. He was best known for his sense of humor.
He is preceding in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Dilia Solis, his parents, sisters, Guadalupe and Julia, brothers, Santiago and Manuel and numerous other family members.
He is survived by his 5 children, Joe (Debbie) Solis, Sylvia Solis, Juanita (Ben) Poncedeleon, Gloria (Joe V) Solis, and Martin (Kori) Solis. His grandchildren, Rudy (Doug), David (Maria), Alex, Joey, Kimberly, Jessica, Eva, Vivianna, Andrew (Katie), Ryan, Sonny, Victoria (Joseph), Dominic (Ceara), Bianca (Fabian), Alyssa (Mike). Great grandchildren, Alexander, Josiah, Ezekiel, Maximilian, Alora, David Jr, Matthew, Alaina, Josiah, Charlotte, Caroline, and Robert. Grand Fur Babies, Rylee and P-Nut. Cousins, who were more like sisters, Paula, Cheva, and Delfina.
Special thanks to the staff at Cimarron Place and Trinity Hospice for their care and support during the last 10 months, especially Tristan and Charlotte.
He instilled in his children the value of family and education. He was very proud of his children’s accomplishments.
Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m with A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic church 3502 Nogales/MacArthur. Burial will follow with full military honors at 1:00 p.m. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery 9974 I.H. 37 North Access Rd.
