Obituary

Minerva "Minnie" Gonzalez went to join her late husband Herminio "Herman" Gonzalez on Friday, March 27, 2020 at her home in Corpus Christi, Texas.  She was born on May 14, 1935.  84 years young, she leaves behind her husband, Arturo Ramirez.  She was the middle daughter of 6 children and leaves behind her sister, Maria "Lucha" Velasquez and brother, Paulino Trejo.  Minnie and her late husband, Herman had 7 children, Javier, Andy, Velma (Danny), Joey (Sandy), Rick (Debbie), Michael, and Paul.  Her 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter were the light of her life.  Her home was a haven for unconditional love and support.  She welcomed so many into her life and always treated everyone as her own.  She bonded with her family over the love of baseball, specifically she was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves & Chipper Jones.  Her hobbies included cooking for all the afternoon lunch time, as many as two lunch shifts at times and also was a big part of the Moody baseball/football programs and booster clubs, sewing for her family, spending time with loved her ones and gardening.  She once said, "to shed tears when one passes is selfish, since we believe a person is going to a better place, we should instead celebrate".   Although Minnie will be deeply missed by so many, we should remember there is nowhere we could go that she won't be with us.
