Michael "Mike" Smith, age 68 passed away surrounded by his family on July 23, at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents William R. Smith and Emma Smith as well as his step-son James DeLaCruz.
Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth Smith, his son, Bryan Smith, daughter-in-law Jennifer and his grandchildren, Dylan, Madalyn and Ian of Corpus Christi, his daughter, Katherine Blanchette, son-in-law Thomas and grandson Landon of Rhode Island, his late step-sons children, Adam and Nathan Delacruz of Maryland, as well as his brothers William (Bill) Smith of Arlington Virginia and Thomas (Tommy) Smith of Austin Texas.
Mike retired in January of 2018 after spending 30 years with UniFirst Corporation as a route salesman, where his smile and work ethic won him many awards .His Unifirst co-workers became like a second family to Mike over the years and remained close even after his retirement.
Mike had many things he loved to participate in, he was very active with the Little Miss Kickball community by coaching, umpiring and volunteering his time for well over 15 years between the OSO and CC United Kickball Leagues.
When Mike wasn't at the fields he enjoyed spending time with his family, going camping, fishing and spending time on his boat.
Memorial Service will be held at The Guardian Funeral Home at 5922 Crosstown SH.286 Corpus Christi, Texas 78417 from 2-5pm.
