IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mercedes
Vallejo
September 19, 1937 – February 16, 2026
Mercedes Vallejo, the heart and "safe harbor" of her family, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on September 19, 1937, Mercedes lived a life defined by resilience, an unbreakable spirit, and a deep, quiet faith that touched everyone she met.
A Life of Grace and Strength
Though she faced a difficult journey in her youth, Mercedes transformed her hardships into a foundation of strength for her children and grandchildren. She was a woman of profound beauty—both inside and out—who possessed the rare gift of viewing the world without judgment. A "godly woman" in the truest sense, Mercedes began every day in prayer, keeping a protective spiritual canopy over those she loved. To cross her path was to be changed for the better; she had a way of making every soul feel seen, heard, and deeply loved.
Her Lasting Legacy
Mercedes fought with courage until the very end, leaving behind a sprawling, vibrant family who carry her lessons of kindness and perseverance.
She is survived by her loving children:
• Lisa Barrera (husband Chris)
• Leticia Cano
• Guadalupe Rodriguez (husband Natividad)
• Robert Vallejo
• Ruben Vallejo (wife Linda)
• Lydia Vallejo (husband Alfred Garcia)
Her legacy continues through the lives of her 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished as a unique blessing. Two sisters: Andrea (Elias) Bracamonte and Lydia (Alfredo) Amaro.
Mercedes is reunited in eternal peace with Her sons, Hermino Vallejo Jr. and Richard Vallejo, and Two beloved grandchildren
A Final Tribute
Mercedes was more than a matriarch; she was the steady anchor in every storm. While her physical presence is gone, the echoes of her prayers and the warmth of her soul will remain with her family forever. She taught us that no matter how rough the seas of life may be, one can always choose to be a source of light.
