Melinda Rios-Davis was born on January 19, 1974 to Diana Rios and Juan A. Rios. A lifelong Corpus Christian, she lost her battle with breast cancer on July 27, 2023 at the age of 49.

Melinda met her husband Guy G. Davis, Jr. when they worked at the same cable company. He was persistent in dating Melinda, and after three years of dating, they married on November 9, 2000, in Las Vegas. Almost four years later, on September 27, 2004, their daughter Marissa Caroline Davis was born.

Melinda graduated Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1995 and Master's degree of Science in Counseling in 2005. From 2003-2005 Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International – Chi Sigma Iota – Local Chapter: Theta Alpha Mu

In 2016, she became a Licensed Professional Counselor. Melinda also received awards for Above and Beyond Award – Behavioral Health Center in 2008 and 2011.

Melinda volunteered at the Crisis Counseling Assistance with Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Ike and Mobile Crisis Outreach Team after hours rotation for Behavioral Health Center.

When Melinda was not working, she loved spending time with Guy, Marissa and their cat, Autumn. They traveled to many soccer games watching Marissa play and love taking family trips to San Antonio, Fort Worth Stockyards, New Orleans, and Nuevo Progresso, Mexico. She was passionate about politics, watching WWE, Judge Judy and the Dallas Cowboys. She was a Christian who believed in God and Jesus Christ. She enjoyed eating Mexican food and washing it down with a "dressed" beer or Diet Coke light on the ice. A fan of music, she liked to listen to Guns N Roses and Metallica and attending concerts with her cousin, Juan Manuel Garza.

Melinda was the kind of woman who was known for her love of her family and helping those most in need.
