Maxie Susan Reyna Moreno, the best and most loved teacher at West Oso ISD and Robstown ISD, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 15 ^th , 2020 at the age of 64.

Maxie is survived by her husband, Nieves Moreno Jr; her children, Nora Moreno-Jarrell (Todd Jarrell) and Nieves Moreno III (Valerie Moreno); her pets and GG and Booger; her grandchildren, Dominick Moreno, Destiny Moreno, Vida Jarrell and Eric Jarrell.  She is predeceased by her parents Alvino Reyna Jr and Ofelia Reyna; and her sisters Sally R. Jackson, Virginia Kean, and Ofelia Yvette R. Hubbard.

She had a strong love for family.  She was the fifth child of ten siblings, Sally (James), Virginia (Bill), Alvino (Diana), Sylvia (Jose), Rudy (Elva), Genie (Joe), Barbara (Alonso), Mario (Joyce), and Yvette (Victor).  She had a plethora of nieces and nephews that she adored (too many to list, but you know who you are and you know she loved you).  She had cousins, uncles, aunts, and distant relatives that she kept in touch with and cared so much for.

Maxie had a knack for making friends where ever she went.  Her distinctive laugh and warm personality made her one of kind. She taught thousands of students within her teaching career and can name each one like they were her own children.  She played Bunko, loved to go to bingo, and enjoyed the machinitas with her sisters. She was always there when anyone needed her. She opened her heart and home to many, as she was loved dearly.

Viewing will be on Wednesday March 18 ^th , 2020 at Guardian Funeral Home 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi, Texas from 4:00 p.m.   We will share our stories beginning at 5:00pm. The Rosary will begin at 7:00pm. We will meet at Our Lady of Pillar Church, 1101 Bloomington St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78416 for service at 10:00am on Thursday March 19 ^th , 2020.
